'Top Chef: Boston' Episode 6 Recap: A Favorite To Win Ends Up On The Bottom — Maybe Eliminated!

By Larry Abuliak | Nov 20, 2014 10:32 AM EST

On this week's "Top Chef" episode, "The First Thanksgiving," the chefs are back in their pad and drinking to the eliminated chef, Aaron. They're all happy he's gone because they hated his personality. Adam's happy he beat Doug because he thinks Doug's one of the more dominant chefs. Melissa reads a note her girlfriend gave her before she came on the show. When this happens on the show, it usually means Melissa is either going to win this week or go home. Past "Top Chef" Season 1 contestant Tiffani Faison surprises the chefs in their abode and takes them on a road trip to a bog of cranberries. This, of course, is a product placement for Ocean Spray. The first four chefs to fill their crate with cranberries will get an advantage in the quickfire challenge. Katie, Adam, Gregory and Doug win. Back at the kitchen, Padma's with Tiffani and they tell the chefs their challenge is to create a dish highlighting cranberries. The four who won get to use the high-end pantry, while the others have to use low-quality ingredients. When the challenge starts, we already see some head-scratchers. Katie is making cranberry borscht, which sounds disgusting. Coming from a Russian family, I know that beets should be used for borscht, so I can't even imagine it with cranberries. Katsuji is using a tough skirt steak to make a tartar, which doesn't sound like it will be successful. Katsuji, Adam and Stacy are in the bottom, while Doug, Katie and Mei were the best. The winner of immunity is ... Katie! I'm shocked and now I want to try that borscht. For the elimination challenge, the chefs will head to Plymouth Rock, where they will have to cook a Thanksgiving dinner using only ingredients and utensils used in the 1600s, when the Pilgrims arrived on the Mayflower. They will serve in two separate groups. Read More »

'Top Chef: Boston' Episode 2 Spoilers: Patrick Swayze Makes An Appearance And Two Chefs Go At It In The First Fight Of The Season!

By Larry Abuliak | Oct 23, 2014 09:24 AM EDT

This week's "Top Chef," titled "Boston's Bravest and Finest," has the chefs on edge after last week's elimination. Mei is on Cloud 9 after winning it, while Katsuji's trying to make light of being on the bottom. Aaron and Keriann get into it because Aaron feels a chef needs to be good at molecular gastronomy to succeed, and actor Patrick Swaayze made an appearance. (By the way, I have to mention reader Eater Fan who commented in last week's episode recap that Keriann's title of "World's Greatest Young Chef" was earned at the World Association of Chefs Conference in Dubai. Thanks for the info!) Read More »

Nina Agdal PHOTOS, Sports Illustrated Model's Sexy Carl's Jr. Super Bowl Commercial Goes Viral [VIDEO]: Next Kate Upton? [POLL]

By Danica Bellini | Feb 06, 2013 12:28 PM EST

Carl's Jr. and Hardee's fast-food restaurants have managed to make eating a sloppy, juicy burger utterly sexy and mouth-watering once again. Last year, it was a provocative ad featuring the stunning Kate Upton "making love" with a southwest patty melt... the clip was deemed too "inappropriate" to air during the 2012 Super Bowl. But this year, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Nina Agdal wowed in a sexy, bikini-clad "Charbroiled Atlantic Cod Fish sandwich" commercial that actually DID make it on-air during Super Bowl XLVII. The hot-and-steamy clip of an oiled-up Agdal seductively chowing down on the new fast-food specialty has caused quite a stir on the web. So which sexy Carl Jr.'s commercial is better... Agdal's Hawaiian paradise, or Upton's raunchy drive-in? Read More »
