FOX's hit series Brooklyn Nine-Nine returned earlier tonight and brought something extra to the table... actress Eva Longoria! In "Jake And Sophia," Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) finds himself in a romantic relationship with Longoria's character. One catch? She happens to be the defense attorney of the very criminal he's trying to put behind bars!

The episode kicks off with Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero) running late... something she's never done before. Of course, this leads the Nine-Nine crew to bet on reasons for her tardiness. Despite them all, Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher) takes the win with her being held up at the bank. Yep... lame but true.

Switching to later that night, Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews) and Peralta are talking at the bar about an upcoming trial for a case Jeffords worked on regarding a jewelry store robbery. Eventually, Peralta confides in his friend and admits he's been feeling lonely. Such a story only allows Jeffords to offer some advice to the former SNL player. He suggests Peralta NOT talk about work all of the time during dates, and focus more so on things that interest him. Jeffords then spots an attractive woman towards the other end of the bar –– Eva Longoria's character, Sophia Perez.

Later on in the episode, we find out they had some fun (after ingesting some oh, so spicy chicken wings and drinking a cup of ranch dressing) that night. And yes... adult fun time.

Meanwhile, Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz) and Santiago meet with Holt to discuss the union selections. It seems Scully has been the union rep for 12 years straight and still pronounces "union" as "onion." Therefore, a change must be made. She then suggests Santiago run.

Switching to Charles Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio) and Gina (Chelsea Peretti), the two exchange things leftover from their days as "poke pals" –– not our term, we swear. While it seems the two are done – with Gina admitting, "It was slightly less gross than I expected" – there's still some unfinished business in the form of a weekend hotel room they booked while together... for a "luxury sex romp."

The next day in the courtroom, Peralta is telling Terry of his sexy time with Perez, which happened to include avocado Ping-Pong. Just then, he's introduced to the replacement defense attorney in the "diamond heist" trial –– Sophia Perez!

With Jeffords telling Peralta he "literally slept with the enemy," we soon discover Perez left some pretty obvious hints during the night that leant easily towards her profession. Of course, Peralta didn't catch on. In court, the two (Peralta and Perez) are in each other's faces doling out dis after dis... mainly in Die Hard terms and trying to figure out who is the Hans Gruber.

Hopping over to Santiago, we find her unhappy with Diaz's push to get her to run for the union. Despite their argument, Captain Holt will not get involved... until the two begin acting like children. Which is when he spins around in his chair (not unlike some James Bond villain) and puts them in their place.

Back in court, Peralta tells the judge of his and Perez's night – though he called it "colitis" instead of "coitus." He and his one-night-stander once again shell out some pretty hilarious jabs at one another. All the while, the fight between Gina and Charles wages onward to figure out who will have their room for the weekend!

In the Nine-Nine precinct, Peralta grabs the crew together to find more information about the diamond heist suspect... but he really just wants to win against Perez. Amy suggests suspect hid in dumbwaiter. Turns out she is correct!

Later on, Amy preps for her union speech. And because of her reluctance in running (blaming it on the fact that she wants to be Captain some day and union reps always clash with superior officers), she purposely writes a bad speech. Hearing this, Holt brings her in his office – for a powwow, believe it or not! – and urges her to run. She agrees.

In the fight of Charles v. Gina, turns out the two have asked Holt if the other could work the night shift. To solve the problem, he makes them both work an overnight shift.

So, how who do you think wins the case in the end –– Jake or Sophia? Unfortunately for the Nine-Niners... the latter! After storming out of court, Jeffords says that despite her profession (turns out cops hate dating DA's), he believes Peralta has feelings for her. Admitting so, Peralta asks her out. She agrees... of course.

As for Santiago and Scully... who won? Well, come on. Santiago snagged it.

The episode ends with Gina and Charles working overnight. The two admit that they both gave their keys to their parents. And, well, yeah... their parents have themselves a "romantic adventure."
