The Royals is coming! E!'s first scripted series, The Royals is making its way to your television screens in 2015, but until then the show's creator is opening up about the spicy series. Plus, actress Elizabeth Hurley is talking about her role in the dramatic series.

"I just thought it would be really interesting to take a look behind the curtain," Mark Schwahn (who also created One Tree Hill), the show's creator, told E! News about the concept for The Royals. "Who are these people? What do they want? What will they do to get it? I thought it was really fascinating and a great idea for the foundation of a story."

He continued saying, "We're gonna tell these traditional old school stories about love, hate, lust, and revenge. We're gonna tell all of these stories but we're gonna do it in a way that you haven't seen, with people you haven't met, and on a stage and a platform that has incredible stakes."

The series will premiere on E! in March 2015 and will star Elizabeth Hurley as Queen Helena, Vincent Regan as King Simon, William Moseley as Prince Liam and Alexandra Park as Princess Eleanor.

"The Royals will offer a fictional look behind the very public gilded facade of the palace gates to imagine the private, lush, fun, sexy world of the most-watched celebrity family on the planet," Jeff Olde, E's exec vice president of original programming and development said in a statement via Variety in March. "It's a perfect series to introduce E! viewers to scripted pop culture programming on the network."

The show will be about a fictional royal family and their lavish lifestyle, and scandalous secrets that you would otherwise never see. "It's a very nice combination of what the public sees and what the public will never see," Elizabeth told E! News. "And we had a lot of fun doing the latter bit."

William, who plays Elizabeth's onscreen son explained, "The royal family is this sort of enchantment, it's like a fairytale. And I think that we bring you into that fairytale. We take you there and we show you everything."
