It has been made very public that Demi Lovato has struggled in the past with an eating disorder, therefore one can sympathize with her beef with "All About That Bass" singer, Meghan Trainor's comments about not being "strong enough" to have an eating disorder.

To refresh your memory, Trainor said in an a September interview with ET that "I grew up a chubby girl," adding "I wasn't strong enough to have an eating disorder. I tried to go anorexic for a good three hours. I ate ice and celery, but that's not even anorexic. And I quit. I was like, 'Ma, can you make me a sandwich? Like, immediately."

Mental health is a HUGE topic in the industry right now, so Demi's long tweet is gaining traction.

"Having an eating disorder doesn't show "strength," reads one tweet from the Camp Rock actress. "Strength is when you are able to overcome your demons after being sick and tired for so long."

Preach it girl!

Demi continues, "There's a wide misconception that anorexia and/or bulimia is a choice and you often hear people say things like 'why doesn't she just start eating' or even 'just stop throwing up.' It's the ignorance and lack of education on mental illnesses that continues to but mental health care on the back burner in congress even though this is an epidemic that is sweeping our nation, and causing more and more tragedy every day."

Lovato began an eating disorder at age eight when she started to compulsively overeating at age eight. Over the years she struggle with bulimia as well as self-mutilation. "I was performing concerts on an empty stomach," she told MTV. "I was losing my voice from purging. I was self-medicating."

Lovato ends her twitter rage with, "Btw this isn't a rant, just a reminder for everyone out there who may not know the severity of these deadly disease. No hate here."
