Jan Vertonghen and Neil Taylor may just be the defenders that play for Belgium and Wales, but before their clash, they both had their say on elite superstars Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard. With the pair facing off in their Euro 2016 qualifier, one can wonder, who came out on top, and which player is the better one overall? Both attacking talents were on display in this matchup, but ironically, despite talking of the attacking talent, it was both Jan and Neil's part of the pitch that had their say on the game.

The game finished 0-0, meaning neither Hazard nor Bale had an impact for their teams. Before the game Jan explained: "He's one of the best in the world but you can't be scared playing against good players. It's very difficult to mark him. Defenders can't mark him one-on-one, so we have to defend him as a team."

Strangely enough, despite being right to a point, it was he that had a bigger impact, stopping Bale in his tracks.

Taylor also showed similar respect for Hazard, saying, "Hazard has developed under Jose Mourinho. He's the best player in the Premier League by a mile, I'd say. Mourinho has done that - he's on a player if they don't perform. Hazard is doing it week in, week out. He's a ball carrier, he can take Chelsea from the edge of their box to the opposition area and go past you like a ghost. He can go outside or inside, shoot, or make you foul him. He's a great player. But we have one of our own. Of course, I'd always have Gareth in my team before Hazard. No question. I played against him when he was at Spurs, but played with him throughout the Welsh age groups."

He concluded, "He is one of those freaks of nature who come along every now and then, technically and athletically. He's world class like the Messis and Ronaldos. They were born to play football."

Despite neither player making an impact, which player is the best, and why?
