'New Girl' Recap: “Teachers” Reveals A Sangria Filled Boys Night And One Serious Hookup

This week's episode of New Girl is all about the boys and a little bit about Jess's love life. "Teachers" reveals Jess's new hot man and an emotional guys night.

"Teachers" begins with the guys all looking a female reproductive system book as Coach complains about having to teach health. He now has to go to the teacher's conference in Palm Dale with Jess, while the rest of the guys have a celebratory guys weekend.

As Jess packs for the weekend, Cece tries to get her to dress hotter for Ryan, the new science teacher, who Jess clearly has a crush on. Once she arrives at the conference she automatically avoids Ryan and his advances. She even tries to have Coach as a barrier. After Coach gets called out by the conference's leader (played by Lisa Bonet), he abandons Jess and she is forced to team up with Ryan for the rest of the day.

Back in Los Angeles Winston, Nick and Schmidt are trying to have a manly weekend. Of coarse Schmidt makes sangria instead of having them drink beer and it is clear they won't be having a typical guy's weekend. As they watch the women's fitness class across the street, Schmidt accidentally spills his sangria on Jess's blanket. He panics and Nick tells him to wash it, but Schmidt doesn't want to.

After trying to wash the blanket, Schmidt admits that he doesn't know how to do laundry. He tried to throw the quarters into the detergent slot! After Nick and Winston make fun of him it comes out that Winston doesn't know how to read a ruler. Nick tells them they are both stupid and volunteers to teach them how to do both of the simple things they cannot do.

Watching Nick try and teach the two men how to perform these simple tasks is hilarious and one of the highlights of this week's episode. After dumping out the liquid detergent from Schmidt's hands multiple times and showing Winston a ruler, both guys master their tasks. After toasting Nick for all his help, Nick reveals that he doesn't understand love and then things get serious.

Back at the conference, Jess is falling for Ryan even though she is trying her hardest not to. She even calls Cece and has her read a ridiculous letter she wrote to herself to talk her out of hooking up with Ryan. After she learns that Ryan scrapbooks in the rain and owns a lot of yarn she is having a really hard time restraining herself from acting on her feelings.

Meanwhile Coach is having a meltdown. After the other teachers tell him that Health class is actually really important he starts to stress out. He ends up getting really drunk and stands on the roof by the pool and prepares to jump in. After Ryan calls Jess out for being mean to him, he still chooses to help her talk Coach out of jumping.

As they all stand at the top of the roof Coach admits to his fear of teaching a more serious subject. Ryan tells him he understands and reveals that teaching is scary. Jess convinces Coach that he is awesome and that he can do it and he feels much better. Even though he is happy he still manages to fall into the pool and Ryan heroically jumps in after him. Jess is officially in love!

Later that night Jess and Ryan are drinking the minibar shots while babysitting Coach. Jess apologizes for being a jerk and Ryan obviously forgives her. Jess then admits that she has a huge crush on him and before he can say anything Coach wakes up and starts to throw up.

In a switch to the loft, the three guys are in a tent that they made drinking sangria as they sing love songs and connect on a deeper level. Nick asks why he hasn't found love yet and the guys tell him he is setting his sights to low. Schmidt them tells him that he is the cute one and he needs to embrace it. Winston then hilariously says, "You don't find diamonds underground." Nick answers, "That's exactly where you find them!"

The guys are all clearly drunk off their girly sangria and it is awesome. They all start revealing their greatest fears and Schmidt admits that Cece is the only one he wants, while Winston talks about his fear of changing from something he sees on the job. It is adorable and a really heartfelt moment to watch.

The next morning Jess and Coach prepare to leave the conference when Ryan comes to talk to Jess. She asks him to forget everything she said the night before and he agrees, but he then tells her that he thinks she is beautiful and he can't stop thinking about her. Jess stops him from talking by kissing him and it is perfect.

When Coach and Jess come home all the guys can tell that she hooked up with Ryan finally and Coach calls them out for the sangria smell. In the end Jess is freaking out about her kiss when she realizes that the boys shrunk her blanket.
