"Shake It Off" singer Taylor Swift is a total rock star, but she doesn't do it alone. The 24-year-old songwriter relies a lot on her friends for guidance. Taylor revealed how her friends influence her style and what she looks for in a best friend.

Taylor is ASOS magazine's January 2015 cover girl, and she has killer style, so it's the perfect fit. The "Blank Space" singer opened up about her style in her cover story and admitted that her friends's opinions really matter to her.

"When I'm getting dressed, it's always based on what my friend's will think. They are my No. 1 priority and the opinions of girls are more important to me at this point in my life," Taylor told ASOS.

"But depending on the city I'm in and depending on the time of day and what mood I'm in, my choices are ever changing. That's what keeps fashion exciting. You're always coming from a different place of inspiration," she said.

Taylor is known for her amazing celebrity BFFs, including Selena Gomez, Lorde, Lena Dunham and Sarah Hyland. But what does she look for in a friend?

"My friends are the kind of people that have their own lives, and their own busy schedules, and that's why we get along so well," she revealed to the publication.

"A lot of 'celebrities' surround themselves with these very chic cling-ons who don't really have much of a job or a passion, They follow around their celebrity BFF and provide constant affirmation for them and I'm really not interested in that kind of deal," she said.

The "Red" singer also explained that being a loyal person is a characteristic she admires.

"Loyalty is so important and it isn't easy because it ruffles feathers. You will not be universally liked if you are loyal to your friends because it means you will always pick their side," the singer-songwriter admitted.

"If your friend has a problem with someone, or someone is terrible to them, even if that person is nice to you, you're gonna give them a look. You're not going to go and take pictures with someone who's just been mean to your friend so they can post them on Instagram," she said.
