What happens when U.K. royalty meets the U.S. verison? Well, we found out last night as Jay-Z and Beyoncé met British royal couple Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton, with the royal visit to New York City scoring a meeting between royalty from both sides of the Atlantic. The two couples hung out at last night's game between LeBron James's Cleveland Cavaliers and the Brooklyn Nets, while protests were staged outside the arena. Brooklyn's own royal couple — hip-hop kingpin Jay-Z and Queen of R&B Beyoncé — took the opportunity to meet William and Kate on the court before the start of the fourth quarter of the game, and the two power couples chatted and exchanged pleasantries in a meeting of two different worlds.

The much-anticipated meet-and-greet between the two couples was displayed on the Barclays Center JumboTron in full, with NBA legend Dikembe Mutombo — who was sitting with Prince William and obviously showing him the finer points of the game — also getting some face time with Jay and Bey. As the royal pair entered the arena in the third quarter, the majority of the Brooklyn crowd stood to watch the royal pair take their seats amid much security and photo-taking, as a buzz hit the arena as though it was an NBA playoff game. It left Cleveland star Kevin Love, who was shooting free throws at the time, almost forgotten.

And, not one to disappoint, LeBron James put on a show for the royal pair with a number of swooping dunks and a couple of thunderous alley-oops delivered by the King. At one point, LeBron gave the Nets crowd a royal wave after a particularly impressive alley-oop to teammate Tristan Thompson, while Dion Waiters genuflected to the crowd after hitting a sweet pull-up jumpshot.

As ESPN reported, after the game LeBron met with William and Kate and gave the pair "cupcakes and two Cavaliers jerseys": one with their son Prince George's name on the back and another that read "Cambridge."

"I gave them a present and thanked them for coming here to America to watch our game," said LeBron via ESPN. "For them to take time out of their schedules and to come out here to watch their first basketball game, it was an honor to be that guy they wanted to watch. So it was pretty cool."

But one person not impressed by the royal visit was Brooklyn Nets coach Lionel Hollins, who shrugged off Prince William and Kate's presence. According to netsdaily.com, Hollins said before the game, "I wouldn't be crazy even if the Pope came over ... unless I was Catholic."

When asked who he would be impressed by, he replied, "I'm not impressed by people. I mean, they're just people that everybody sees on TV. Does that make them better people? They have more money than you, does that make them better people?"

"It doesn't make them better than you," the coach continued. "I know a lot of people with money that I wouldn't want to hang with."

"It's nice," he conceded. "They serve their purpose for their country, and they do what they do. If they came in and said they wanted to meet me, I'd be honored. But if they don't, no sweat."

As Brooklyn star Deron Williams said:
