Kathy Griffin is settling into her new role as the host of E!'s Fashion Police, taking over from the dearly departed Joan Rivers and wasting no time in letting celebrities know they're on watch. Taking on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night, the actor/comedian set her sights on Britney Spears, Anderson Cooper and Ryan Seacrest, as well as host Kimmel.

As reported by MStars News, after comedy legend Rivers died in September, Griffin will take over as host when Fashion Police returns for the 2015 Golden Globe Awards.

"I understand I have some very large shoes to fill," explained Griffin of the new role, "so in her honor I will not be holding back."

"I will be giving no passes," the red-haired host warned. "I am going to let people have it, I'm going to bring the hammer down."

She then proceeded to deliver a fashion rebuke to Kimmel worthy of Fashion Police, calling out the host's attire, saying "... and you ... might want to up your game," she directed at the man behind the desk. "I'm tired of the same suit every time. I get it: it's Gucci. It fits well ... yawn."

"Give me some sparkle," she added. "Give me a fig leaf. Take a risk for God's sake. Don't just show up looking nice-ish," she laughed. "The people want it. They want to see you in an Alexander McQueen ballgown!"

In the same chat, Griffin also delivered a brutal takedown of American Idol host and New Year's Eve rival Ryan Seacrest, continually referring to him as a woman and saying, "I noticed last Friday on this so-called show you had a lady named Ryan Seacrest sitting in this chair. I thought we were done with that fight, James," she laughed, plugging her appearance on CNN's New Year's Eve show with Anderson Cooper, which will air in competition with Seacrest's Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest on ABC.

"We have a true alternative to Ryan and her nonsense and big-budget shows," she said.

As for Cooper, Griffin pointed out all the times she has pranked the CNN personality — who she jokingly calls a "dumb male model" — before adding, "I will try again this year to get him fired. I try to outdo myself and harm him in some way, at least emotionally."

Griffin also told Kimmel about her experience appearing with Britney Spear in Las Vegas, sarcastically calling the "Toxic" star "Britney Spears the 'singer.' We'll go with 'singer,'" she teased.

She added, "There were some warnings from Team Britney — one of them was to not look her directly in the eyes."

This Griffin perceived as a challenge, saying, "I was determined to look in her eyes. And it turns out they were pinwheels on fire. That's what it was."

Ahead of the Kimmel appearance, Griffin also revealed in an interview with Makers that she has "self-diagnosed Tourette Syndrome" and explains her rise through the comedy ranks doing 15-minute sets, saying "she bombed so bad" before finding her way with L.A.'s alternative comedy scene. She also talks about meeting Alec Baldwin, her Emmy Award-winning reality show My Life on the D List and females in comedy, saying how she'd like to emulate "The great Joan Rivers."

"If nothing else as a female comedian," she says, "I'm just going to keep trying to sort of set these records or watermarks so that men who 'don't think chicks are funny' or the young girls coming up go, 'Wow, that girl did that, I can do that.'"
