It has been one terrible week for Sony as the company's "dirty laundry" has been aired. After Buzzfeed published emails between Sony Pictures chair, Amy Pascal and producer Scott Rudin telling racial jokes about President Obama, Kevin Hart and movies that star African American actors, the film company has been getting a lot of attention. (And most of it, like the response from Shonda Rhimes) is anything but positive!)

It all started last year when Pascal was preparing to go to a breakfast that was to be attended by Hollywood movers and shakers as well as President Obama. Pascal emailed her friend, Scott Rudin, to ask for advice on how to chat with the President. The conversation went downhill fast!

Pascal sent the message to Rudin that read:

"What should I ask the president at this stupid Jeffrey breakfast?" (Referring to the breakfast that was hosted by DreamWorks Animation and Democratic donor Jeffrey Katzenberg.)

Rudin replied, "Would he like to finance some movies."

Pascal responded back, "I doubt it. Should I ask him if he liked DJANGO?"

Rudin's response? "12 YEARS."

The emails continued as Pascal added on more African-American films including The Butler and Think Like A Man.

Apparently not wanting to be outdone, Rudin added, "Ride-along. I bet he likes Kevin Hart."

Now mind you, Pascal is a major Democratic donor. According to the site, she donated $5,000 to Obama's re-election campaign and produced a check for $30,800 for the Democratic National Committee.

After the racial emails went viral, stars like producer Shonda Rhimes (How to Get Away With Murder, Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, Private Practice) , and Kevin Hart had a lot to say.

Rhimes tweeted:

"Calling Sony comments "racially insensitve remark" instead of "racist"? U can put a cherry on a pile of sh*t but it don't make it a sundae."

Rhimes was not alone in finding Rudin and Pascal's email chatter harsh, and racial. Hart, who was called a "money whore" by Sony studio executive, Clint Culpepper, wrote:  "Knowing your self worth is extremely important people...I worked very hard to get where I am today," I look at myself as a brand and because of that I will never allow myself to be taken advantage of. I OWN MY BRAND...I MAKE SMART DECISIONS FOR MY BRAND... which is why I'm able to brush ignorance off of my shoulder and continue to move forward. I refuse to be broken people...with that being said it's now time for me to get back to building this empire that I've always dreamed of!!!"

Since the drama has gone public, both Rudin and Pascal have issued separate apology statements. Rudin's statement said:

"Private emails between friends and colleagues written in haste and without much thought or sensitivity, even when the content of them is meant to be in jest, can result in offense where none was intended," he told Deadline. "I made a series of remarks that were meant only to be funny, but in the cold light of day, they are in fact thoughtless and insensitive - and not funny at all. To anybody I've offended, I'm profoundly and deeply sorry, and I regret and apologize for any injury they might have caused."

Sony's chair, Amy Pascal said:

"The content of my emails were insensitive and inappropriate but are not an accurate reflection of who I am," she said. "Although this was a private communication that was stolen, I accept full responsibility for what I wrote and apologize to everyone who was offended."

MStars News wants to know, did you find Rudin and Pascal's emails "racist?"
