What Marvel Movie Roles Has Emily Blunt Turned Down? 'Captain Marvel' Carol Danvers Fan-Casting Still On 'Into The Woods' Starlet's Mind!

So is Emily Blunt going to be cast as Carol Danvers in the upcoming Captain Marvel movie? According to her, she hasn't received a call from the movie studio, but has in the past! The Into the Woods actress this week revealed that she turned down two big Marvel movie roles in the past. Which ones were they? Find out more in below!

Speaking with Vulture this week, Emily explained that while she's up for the idea of a Marvel film, the studio has yet to reach out to the movie star to actually work up a contract.

"Oh! No one's offered me that officially, so it's... very unofficial," she explained, according to Gamma Squad. "I think it's fan-casting, which is always very nice. But nothing official has been offered, for sure."

This isn't the first time Blunt has addressed the Captain Marvel casting rumors. Back in November of 2014, she talked about how grateful she was to fans for fan-casting her in the role. Blunt called the "fan-casting" concept "lovely," explaining: "It's my favorite kind of casting! I wish it was always like that."

The Edge of Tomorrow starlet also revealed that she has been approached for other superhero roles in the past, but had to pass on them due to other commitments.

"It was never the right time, really, and it just didn't work out scheduling-wise with Black Widow and Peggy Carter," she told Vulture in the same interview. "It's always a difficult thing to talk about, because it's not fair to the actresses who ended up playing them, you know? It just wasn't the right time."

We're happy to see Scarlett Johansson and Hayley Atwell in these roles now, especially since they've created franchises around the characters. If Blunt lands the Captain Marvel role, we're sure she'll have the same success.

Emily was recently in the headlines over the 2014 holiday for pulling pranks with her husband, John Krasinski, on Jimmy Kimmel. Apparently, the celebrity couple and the late night TV talk show host have some sort of a Christmas prank war that has been going on for quite some time, but this year the Jimmy Kimmel Live! star was bested by Blunt and Krasinski!
