MStars News has learned that another attack has happened — this time in the United States.

According to NBC News, the NAACP Colorado Springs Chapter's office was attacked by explosives, but no one was injured.

The NAACP statement on the matter reads:

The NAACP has released the following statement regarding an ongoing investigation into an explosion near the Colorado Springs branch.

No injuries were reported in what is believed to be an explosion near the Colorado Springs NAACP branch located on the 600 block of S. El Paso St. The cause of the explosion is still unknown. The NAACP looks forward to a full and thorough investigation into this matter by federal agents and local law enforcement.

The NAACP Colorado Springs branch have also released their own statement that reads:

ATTENTION FREEDOM FIGHTERS:

As you are probably aware an improvised explosive device was detonated against the exterior wall of our branch office on yesterday[, Jan. 6].

The explosion knocked items off the office walls but no one was injured.

Agents from the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives went to the scene after the blast to gather evidence and place markers.

The FBI said that a gasoline can was placed next to the device but the contents did not ignite.

According to the FBI officials, they are seeking a "potential person of interest," described as a balding white male, about 40 years old.

The investigation is ongoing and it is not known at this time if the NAACP or a business in the vicinity was the intended target.

Anyone with information about the explosive device should call the FBI tip line at (303) 435-7787

"We'll move on. This won't deter us from doing the job we want to do in the community," said Henry Allen Jr., the NAACP Colorado Springs chapter president

According to NBC, FBI spokeswoman Amy Sanders claims it is too early to know if the organization was the target, but they are in fact looking for a white male in his 40s who was driving a dirty pickup truck.

The alleged person the FBI is looking for also has an open tailgate or a missing or covered license plate.

The president of the local NAACP chapter, Henry Allen Jr. told local news:

"Apparently we have the attention of someone that knows we are working for civil rights for all," he claims. "That is making some people uncomfortable, so therefore they feel the need to target."
