Star Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has admitted that his signature beard is a "bad look", but still won't shave the follicular wonder ahead of his team's NFL Divisional playoff round game against former Colt Peyton Manning and his new team, the Denver Broncos. Ahead of the game the QB — the 1st overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft ahead of Subway sandwich enthusiast Robert Griffin III, who has led his team to the playoffs in each of the three years he's been in the NFL — also revealed something of his game plan for Sunday's matchup. In a surprise twist, it involves throwing the ball... but also maybe running sometimes.

As ESPN report, Luck told reporters on a media conference call that when it comes to his beard, "I know it's a bad look."

Not only that, however, but Luck pointed out he gets non-stop grief for it from those closest to him as well. "My girlfriend tells me every day. My mom tells me. I realize it's a bad look. But I'm not going for any specific look."

The reason Luck grows the beard, though, is not for any specific reason, the QB says. It's simply down to "Razor burn," he admits. He doesn't want to shave it excuse, as he says, "If you grow it this long, you might as well keep it."

As USA Today's Lindsay Jones tweeted out:

Maybe he's just stubborn? Or maybe, y'know, he's led the Colts to the playoffs in each of his first three years in the NFL, so perhaps his girlfriend and mom should get off his back and let the man grow his beard.

Anyway! As the David DeChant of denverdroncos.com reports, Luck also told Denver media that when he heads to Sports Authority Field at Mile High this Sunday to face Manning and the Broncos, he'll be looking to assert himself on the game with the impressive Colts passing attack, but isn't afraid to run on the Broncos defense too.

"I think situationally - where you are in the game, what's going on - plays a factor," Luck told reporters. "For me it's always trying to get the ball out of my hands into a playmakers' hands. That is goal No. 1."

As he pointed out to reports though, he's not limited to simply throwing the ball, saying "But I remember a long time ago, when I was a freshman with Coach [Jim] Harbaugh and then Coach [David] Shaw at Stanford - as a quarterback, if you can get a first down or two a game with your legs, that's a good thing."

What do you think? Yay or nay to the neck beard? Will Luck and his neck beard beat noted pizza proponent Manning and his hairline?
