CBS' 'Supergirl' Casting/Spoilers: Will Mehcad Brooks, Melissa Benoist Fight Wonder Woman Baddie, Lumberjack? [WATCH]

CBS had added a new ally and a super villain to their upcoming DC Comics TV show, Supergirl. In this latest round of casting news, will Melissa Benoist (Playing Superman's cousin Kara) and Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) be able for defeat the Wonder Woman baddie, Lumberjack?

As we previously mentioned, the CBS superhero drama will follow the comic book adventures of Kara Zor-El (Benoist). In the mythology, Kara Zor-El escaped from the planet Krypton before its destruction years ago, but became lost in space. Crash-landing onto Earth, Kara tries to control her superpowers as she maintains her secret identity as Clark Kent's relative.

We also mentioned, Supergirl has already received a pilot order and series commitment from CBS. Greg Berlanti (The Flash) is executive producing and writing alongside Ali Adler (No Ordinary Family). Casting directors are currently looking for the next Cat Grant, Winslow Schott, and Hank Henshaw.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, theTrue Blood alum has been tapped to play the role of Clark Kent's buddy and the Daily Planet's photographer, Jimmy Olsen. A major change from the comics, Jimmy will not have red hair, nor will he mention his Irish heritage.

In this new take, Olsen is a photographer at CatCo.,where Kara works. Jimmy has recently been living and working in National City, though the reason why is still a secret. What will be kept from the comics is Jimmy's romantic relationship with Supergirl.

According to TV Line, Supergirl's first nemesis will be Lumberjack, who is described to be a "big, burly monster of a man, who has battled Kara's cousin in the past." The hired assassin appears to be working for someone else, the main villain, the big bad, of the series.

Brooks wrote on his Instagram account, "Hi Super fans. #supergirl #jimmy olsen"
