MStars News has learned that Kyle Norman, a member of the hit R&B singing group Jagged Edge, has been arrested for aggravated assault after choking his fiancée with her engagement ring, during an altercation.

According to AJC.com, Norman's unnamed fiancée was taken to the Atlanta Medical Center early Thursday morning where she was treated for bumps under her eyes, "a golf ball-sized knot on her forehead, a cut to her nose and a blood clot in her right eye."

Police arrived at the couple's home around 5 a.m., where "a fight call between an engaged couple" broke out.

"When I arrived," one officer stated, according to AJC, "I was met by the victim who was visibly shaken."

The singer's fiancée told police that her soon-to-be husband became out of control during an argument about his drinking and told her that "she was gonna die today," police revealed on the report.

Norman's fiancee claims that that the 38-year-old singer punched her, choked her with a scarf, and choked her again when he shoved her engagement ring down her throat. Norman allegedly took his soon-to-be wife's keys and broke her cell phone.

"She stated that she began to agree with things that he was saying in an attempt to calm him down," the officer's report read. "While doing that he turned around and walked away inside their loft and she ran and grabbed his cell phone and was able to run outside and awake a neighbor who let her inside."

Norman, was caught by an officier running down a sidewalk, when police arrived to the scene. As he was spotted by the police, they claim the singer told them that, "I need to go to jail."

He also told the officer, "he was upset about his dad having cancer and that's the reason he got so mad at his fiancée."

Norman is currently sitting at the Fulton County Jail, awaiting his release.

"There's a bench warrant for criminal trespassing - damage which carries at $1,000 surety bond but he can't leave until he is seen by a judge tomorrow morning at 11 a.m.," Fulton County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan revealed.

Jagged Edge are known for their hit songs including "Let's Get Married," "Promise," "Where The Party At."
