Fox's 'Gotham' Recap: Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue Meet "The Fearsome Dr. Crane" In "Batman" Prequel!

The Batman prequel, Gotham, returns with an all-new episode on Fox. As more DC Comics super-villains make their way onto the TV screen, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) will discover The Scarecrow's origin story in 'The Fearsome Dr. Crane.'

Afraid of heights, a man is tied to a wooden chair and held over the ledge of a rooftop. After he is dropped, the rope snaps and breaks his neck, killing him instantly.

While Penguin (Robin Taylor) and Maroni (David Zayas) make a toast, the two get a call from Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith). Wanting revenge, Fish reveals Penguin is one of Falcone's men. While Riddler (Cory Michael Smith) is investigating the crime scene, the Captain is worried for Harvey's life after Detective Flass' arrest. Because Flass had a lot of friends, anything can look like an accident. 

After getting caught in his apartment, Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) tells Jim she didn't see anything when the Waynes were murdered. Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) will pursue his parent's murder by himself, without Gordon's help. Elsewhere, Maroni is pushing Penguin, making him worry about his life.

Bullock meets Scottie Mullen (Maria Thayer), the victim's former phobia sponsor. The suspect could be someone within the group. Bullock is smitten with Scottie, as he tries to hit on her and solve the case at the same time. Afraid of pigs, another victim is kidnapped while the detectives investigate a lead.

Disobeying orders, the Riddler performs his own autopsy, which gets him suspended. At an abandoned warehouse, Bullock and Gordon hear a man screaming. They both shoot down a man wearing a pig's mask.    

While Fish is on a boat, the detectives think they have their perpetrator. After the Riddler says goodbye to Ms. Kringle, Penguins sneaks around the cabin and grabs a gun. After revealing Maroni spoke with Fish, Penguins shoots him with blanks and gets himself beaten up. 

While Jim and Lesile (Morena Baccarin) are on a date, he gets a call that the second victim woke up. Bullock ends up bumping into Todd/Gerald Crane (Julian Sands) at the phobia meeting. At a car impound lot, Penguin is thrown inside a vehicle that is going to be crushed. 

After Penguin escapes from his deathtrap, Dr. Crane listens to Bullock, who talks about how he might die. "Todd" is afraid of spreading his phobias onto his son. Harvey realizes too late his perp has kidnapped Scottie. 

Riddler frames the medical examiner for a crime he didn't commit. At the swimming pool, Gerald Crane and his son, Jonathan, are about to drown Scottie,, when the detectives arrive. During the chase, Bullock saves Scottie but Gordon loses Gerald.

A church group finds Penguin sleeping on the side of the road, Leslie discovers his adrenal glands were removed. Knowing his job is reinstated, Riddler smiles as he watches Jim and Leslie kiss. Awoken by heavy gunfire, Fish's boat is suddenly hijacked by pirates.
