'Star Wars' Spin-Off 2016 Movie Rumors - Young Han Solo Cast? 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' Star Taron Egerton Portraying Harrison Ford Character For Director Gareth Edwards?

Details surrounding the first Star Wars spin-off movie, which hits theaters one year after J.J. Abrams' 2015 blockbuster Star Wars: The Force Awakens, have been pretty sparse, with only rumors about the plot details, characters and casting popping up every once in a while. We do know that Godzilla filmmaker Gareth Edwards is set to direct the stand-alone film and that Academy Award nominee Felicity Jones could be the female lead, but that's about it. This week, though, we might've found out another star showing up in the film, and what character he's portraying. According to new rumors, Taron Egerton of Kingsman: The Secret Service could be playing a young Han Solo in the 2016 movie!

This new rumors furthers some plot detail rumors that suggest the upcoming spin-off film centers on a group of bounty hunters that try and steal the original plans for the Death Star. Another big character involved in this is Boba Fett.

So far, casting rumors have been focused on Aaron Paul to take on the young Solo role, which is easily one of the most iconic film roles ever thanks to star Harrison Ford. Another actor rumored for a role in the film, which could possibly be Solo, is Edgar Ramirez. We previously suggested that these two could be up for Solo and Fett in the film. But now, rumors are focusing on the 25-year-old star of Matthew Vaughn's Kingsman, who won over theatergoers with his charm and parkour skills. According to The Daily Mail, this rumor came from gossip newspaper The Sun, claiming the film would show how Solo gets his Millennium Falcon (via Gamma Squad). Though the original source isn't known for the truth in most matters, Slash Film shared a Twitter post from Kingsman screenwriter Mark Millar that suggests this rumor could be true!
