Based on the popular crime novels by the late author Elmore Leonard, the final Season 6 season of Justified continues on FX. Before their inevitable showdown, will Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) and Ava (Joelle Carter) discover Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins)'s "psychological warfare?"

In our previous recap, Ava unexpectedly rekindled her past romance with Raylan and kissed him. Elsewhere, Boyd met with Ava's uncle, Zachariah (Fahey) because he needs help breaking into Avery Markham (Sam Elliott)'s vault. With his knowledge of explosives, Zachariah will help out Boyd for the money, even though they don't like each other.

In our recen recap, after proposing to Katherine Hale (Mary Steenburgen), Avery ordered the death of Choo-Choo. In a blaze of glory, Choo-Choo went down in a fatal shootout with Raylan and Tim (Jacob Pitts). Though Ava figured out which mine shaft Boyd and her uncle are working, Limehouse made a call to her house that threatens everyone involved.

In an interview with with The Hollywood Reporter, The Shield actor reveals what's going through Boyd's mind as he takes Ava on a hunting trip, "It is one of the most volatile, mind-bending experiences I've ever had as an actor. It's psychological warfare, administered by Boyd Crowder. He's as nefarious and deviant as they come in a lot of ways. And a warning to the person who breaks his heart or puts him in that position, because he will put you through it until he finds out what it is he's looking for."

Goggins continues, "Going through it was excruciating. It was very difficult to do. But so rewarding. It gets dark in the room before anyone turns on the light."
