It's 2015 and all the stuff promised to us in Back to the Future: Part II aren't close to being here. There's no Jaws 3D, the sleek vest fashion or hoverboards. Instead, all we have are these phones that can not only call from anywhere, but also grant us the ability to hone unlimited information at our fingertips. While we don't have any of the cool Back to the Future stuff, a website called HalloweenCostumes.com comes pretty close to getting down the 2015 fashion from 1989 with its new line of Marty McFly gear. Granted, the board it sells doesn't hover over anything at all.

The hoverboard on the site is sadly only a movie prop, but if you're a fan of the trilogy it's a nice addition to your Back to the Future memorabilia collection. Its design is so in-depth it even has a replica of the circular mechanism at the bottom of it that's supposed to allow it to lift off the ground.

Probably the best part about the website is the replica Marty McFly light-up shoes and the Marty McFly red vest. You can leave your house looking exactly like all 2015-ers should.

Other than watching Back to the Future, probably the closest thing to a hoverboard would be the one created by the tech company Arx Pax. The group created a board that hovered a few centimeters off the ground. You can't really move around with it, though. It needs a special surface to hover over. Still, it's an improvement over all the other hoverboards we don't have.

What's interesting is that the boards in Back to the Future and the ones created by Arx Pax is that both hover with specialized discs at the bottom. It's like the movie essentially called the future

"The magic behind the hoverboard lies in its four disc-shaped hover engines. These engines induce an opposing magnetic field in the surface substrate below that provides lift, levitating our board off the ground," the group said on their Kickstarter campaign.

"While our hoverboard is primarily intended to be self-propelled, the actions which stabilize it can also be used to drive it forward by altering the projected force on the surface underneath it," they said.
