MStars News has learned that the mother of the former South Carolina police office that shot an unarmed black man named Walter Scott, 50, has decided to come forth and speak out about her son, Michael Slager, 33.

In a sit down interview with ABC, Karen Sharpe revealed that she was shocked by her son's actions and knows that her life is changed forever.

The North Charleston officer was arrested Tuesday, charged with the murder, and fired from the police force after pulled Scott over for a broken tail light, authorities revealed.

MStars News learned that a witness, Feidin Santana, recorded the last moments of Scott's life when Slager fatally shot the man eight times as he tries to run away.

Sharpe claims that she can't watch the video of her son killing another man.

"I just can't," the mother added, "Maybe to some people, 'Well, you're being in denial,' but I'm sorry I just can't. I just I know how Michael is."

"Things that have happened, I know there's change ... their life will never be the same again and my life will never be the same again," Sharpe told the ABC reporter. "Even though they're not the same things that have happened, I know there are changes in both their family and my family ... and that's the part that bothers me."

When it comes to Sharpe wondering if she will see her son again, the mother says: "I'm not going to worry, I'm not going to think about that right now. I just have to take one day at a time ... what will happen, will happen, and that's the way it'll be."

"I can only hope that it's not forever, but I just have to let it be and hope God takes care of everybody involved — not only my family but the Scott's family — because I know they're grieving just like I'm grieving," Sharpe said holding back tears.

"He loved being a police officer, I can't imagine him doing that. It's just not like him, that's not his character, it's not."

The former officier has a baby on the way. His mother holds back tears as she talks about how hard he tried to become a father.

"He has a little baby on the way, due next month, and they worked so hard for this baby," Sharpe revealed. "I know he would go to all the appointments, all the OB appointments, and he had to miss it today."

"She was just so sad because he was not there and I know that he would not do something purposeful to not be able to be with his wife during the delivery. They just tried so hard for this," Sharpe claimed.
