'The Americans' Season 3 Finale: Ep 13 'March 8, 1983' Recap: Will Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys Save Paige?

The Season 3 finale of The Americans is here on FX. In Episode 13, March 8, 1983, will undercover spies Philip Jennings (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth (Keri Russell) Jennings be able to keep their innocent daughter, Paige (Holly Taylor), safe during her trip to Russia?

At the airport, the Jennings are joking around before saying their goodbyes. Paige and Elizabeth wave goodbye before getting unto their flight. Philip then meets with Yussef, who wonders if what they did was worth it. Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich) watches as his ex-wife packs up and split their belongings. 

In West Berlin, Elizabeth and Paige are walking the streets, talking about her grandmother. Elizabeth realizes something is wrong, watching behind her  back, checking if someone is following them. Gabriel (Frank Langella) is upset that Elizabeth and Paige are gone because he didn't authorize the trip. He then tells Philip o grow up because he's not the enemy.

Oleg (Costa Ronin) tells Stan that the Center will not execute any assassinations. Their defector sent out the message just they predicted. They are both worried about Nina, hoping she knows they are trying to help her. 

Nina (Annet Mahendru) visits the scientist, who is under a lot of stress. Stan meets with his boss and reveals the defector is a spy. He has the tape that could charge Oleg for treason. Stan's boss wonders why he would be stupid enough to trust him. Stan accepts if its the end of his career but Nina deserves to be saved.

Philip attends a self-help meeting and spots Beeman's wife. In their hotel room, Elizabeth opens the door and her mother is wheeled in. They are both in tears when they see each other. She then meets her granddaughter and holds her hand. 

The FBI put the cuffs on the defector and take her away. Elizabeth watches as her mother is put in a car and driven away. Paige is in the bathroom praying for her grandmother. Elizabeth then sits on the floor next to her.

Stan is dismissed and put under investigation. Unfortunately, the FBI doesn't want Nina and want to trade for someone else. Paige though doesn't understand why her grandmother deserted Elizabeth. 

Philip knocks out a man, hangs him, and writes his suicide note in the computer. Stan then meets with the FBI director, who will not put him under investigation. Stan has to continue working with Oleg but he cannot help Nina. 

Philip then meets with Beeman's ex again at a meeting. As an experiment,she wants Philip to just be open with her as a good thing to have. Philip has to think about it though.

The scientist hides his notes before opening the door for Nina. She's tired of buying back her life. Paige doesn't know if she can return home with Elizabeth and continue with the lies. Elizabeth promises her that they will get through this. 

With Henry at Stan's, Philip listens to the news on the radio. While Philip and Elizabeth talk about her mother, Paige is in tears. 

Philip wants to quit the business but Elizabeth is filled with hate after hearing Reagan's speech, declaring the Soviet Union as an evil empire.

Paige grabs the phone and calls Pastor Tim, revealing her parents are not Americans; they're Russians.
