In one fell swoop the Marvel Universe has been destroyed. Just days after Avengers: Age of Ultron hit the big screen, writer Jonathon Hickman and artist Esad Ribic told the story in Marvel Secret Wars #1 of how the MCU that we've known and loved is officially over after a collision with the Ultimate Universe and a secret meeting between Doctor Doom, Doctor Strange and the Molecule Man that freaked out the Beyonder. While we don't know what they were doing it was enough for the Beyonder to warn the group that their project would spell the end of reality as we know it.

In the collision course between the the two universes every hero went up against their other-universe counterparts. In the battle Colossus fastballed Hulk through an army of enemies, Cyclops hatched a Phoenix egg to once again don the Phoenix was away to vanquish his foes, an army of Ultimate Nick Furys blew up New York City and Drax used a chest mounted missile-launcher for the sole purpose of vaporizing.

The best scene in the battle took place in a bar where Kingpin hosted a supervillain party to watch the heroes kill each other. Punisher showed up and ruined their fun.

"Gentleman. They say that when you die, you can't take it with you," Punisher said upon entering the bar. "Which begs the question. Exactly what am I gonna do with all these bullets."

Killed in the chaos were Rocket Raccoon and the Fantastic Four's children. Rocket was mowed down by stray bullets while the kids were killed when a piece of the FF spaceship broke apart.

At the battle's conclusion the two Universes finally collided. This begs the question of what happens next? You can probably bet some sort of other-worldly super hero bout will be going down.
