There is only 1 episode left of Season 7 from the critically acclaimed Mad Man on AMC. In the penultimate episode, Sally (Kiernan Shipka), the daughter of Don Draper (Jon Hamm), received the most shocking news from her mother, Betty Draper/Francis (January Jones).

In our previous recap, Joan (Christina Henrdicks) received unwanted sexual advances and mistreatment as she moved to the new advertising firm, McCann Erickson. Roger (John Slattery) promised to take care of her if she promised not to file a sexual harassment lawsuit. Realizing he was unhappy at his new job, Don left the money behind, stormed out of a meeting, and just kept driving.

In our recent recap, Don finally stopped driving and stopped at a motel, which ended up being a bad decision. After being offered a new job offer, Peter wanted to reconcile with Trudy (Alison Brie) and be with his family again. What started as a trip on the stairs turned out to be a major health scare for Betty.

In the closing minutes, Betty left a letter of instructions for her Sally to carry out when she died from advanced lung cancer. Deep down inside, Betty knows Sally will be ready for the future, because she "beats to her own drums." Taking Henry's advice, Sally burst into tears after finishing the letter.

According to USA Today, Shipka took to her Instagram account to share this post:
