Tomy Clancy's 'The Division' Release Date Delayed to 2016: Gameplay Features Main Concern

Although Ubisoft had a pretty huge announcement in today's reveal of Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, the video game development studio also broke some hearts this week. According to the company's financial report and investors call that took place recently, the highly anticipated title, Tom Clancy's The Division has had its 2015 release date pushed to early 2016. According to a new update from Ubisoft, The Division will get a release date in the fourth quarter of the 2016 financial year, which falls from Jan. to March. Along with the other development studios involved in the game like Massive, Reflections, and Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft is ensuring gamers that this game will be worth the wait.

"It is never an easy decision to move launch dates, but we are committed to make decisions that will benefit the players," CEO Yves Guillemot said this week, according to Polygon. "As I said in my introduction, this is our most important driver as it has always benefitted the company in the long run."

According to earlier reports, Ubisoft is bringing in help from developers that worked on the new Assassin's Creed and other title for The Division's completion.

"Those games take more time to be completed," Guillemot explained. "We want to make sure we have enough feedback from consumers from alpha and betas to polish it as much as possible before the launch so it comes to the market with the best experience possible. We expect less sales in the financial year than if it would have been launched in the Christmas season, but over the whole, we expect as much sales over its lifespan."
