Tonight marks the end of comedy as we know it. Late Show host David Letterman is retiring and ending his famed CBS series after being on the air for 30 years (in different shows). And with that news, comedians have been coming out to wish their idol goodbye and share their stories of how Letterman has helped them shape their careers and influence their material. Shockingly enough, pretty much everyone has shed a tear saying goodbye to David Letterman.

So, to bring in the final Late Show with David Letterman, MStars News is counting down the top four tearful goodbyes (from comedians) to David Letterman.

4. Jimmy Fallon

Voted most likely to replace David Letterman on Late Night, Jimmy Fallon recently shared his tearful goodbye, admitting that Letterman was one of his all-time favorites.

3. Ray Romano

Romano not only hosted CBS' David Letterman: A Life on Television, but he also claims that it was the famed comedian who was responsible for saving his life. Romano appeared on the Late Show back in 1995, and from there, Letterman signed him to Worldwide Pants. Romano, of course, then went onto create a little known series Everybody Loves Raymond.

2. Jimmy Kimmel

Just last night, Kimmel took some time to pay homage to David Letterman, sharing a childhood obsession he had with the then Late Night host. Kimmel eventually grew up to be a guest on the Late Show, which is exactly what helped him get his ABC series Jimmy Kimmel Live!

1. Norm MacDonald

Oh, Norm... you're the best.

The final episode of The Late Show with David Letterman airs tonight at 11:35 p.m. on CBS. Seriously... watch it.
