Eddie Murphy’s appearance on the 40th anniversary of Saturday Night Live was heavily anticipated, but when it happened it was sort of, well, eh. After the letdown, word got out that Murphy was approached to play Bill Cosby in the Celebrity Jeopardy sketch but declined the offer. Comedian Norm Macdonald appears to have some rather questionable opinions on current Late Night host Seth Meyers. The comments come after hearing the latter disagreed with the way he told Eddie Murphy's refusal to portray Bill Cosby during the famed 40th anniversary episode of Saturday Night Live. Tonight marks the end of comedy as we know it. Late Show host David Letterman is retiring and ending his famed CBS series after being on the air for 30 years (in different shows). Perhaps one of the best sketches of this past Sunday's Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary was Celebrity Jeopardy. Why? Well, because it gathered some of the most iconic celebs (both the performers and the impersonations) together again for one of our favorite SNL sketches of all time. And while Darryl Hammond delighted playing Sean Connery, as he usually does, and Norm MacDonald thrilled us all with his famed Burt Reynolds/Turd Ferguson impression ... it seems that there was supposed to be a little more star power in there. And yes, Kenan Thompson did a wonderful job as famed comedian/alleged rapist Bill Cosby, but it seems he wasn't the first choice to play the role of the good doctor. So, who was supposed to? One time SNL savior Eddie Murphy, who appeared in the NBC studio for the first time in about 30 years – which turned out to be a bit of a letdown.
