With Arrow underway for Season 4, executive producer Greg Berlanti knows a thing or two about masked superheroes. In costume, Grant Gustin (CW's The Flash) and Melissa Benoist (CBS' Supergirl) share the cover with Berlanti on the latest issue of Variety magazine.

As we previously mentioned, the CBS superhero drama will follow the comic book adventures of Kara Zor-El (Benoist). Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El escaped before its destruction. While living on Earth, Kara has been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin. But now at the tender age of 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and become the hero she was always meant to be.

As we previously mentioned, the CW superhero drama follows the comic book adventures of Barry Allen (Gustin). After witnessed the death of his mother by "a man in yellow," Barry has been interested in the impossible. During a dark and stormy night, Barry was struck by lightning, which gave him the superhuman ability to run at full speed.

According to Variety, Berlanti and his production company have three new shows on the horizon, spanning three networks, including NBC's Blindspot and the CW's DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Berlanti's career skyrocketed when he joined Dawson's Creek at the age of 25 during its second season.

Berlanti reveals, "I learned that I really rely on other writers - that I can break stories quickly, but I can't write quickly. I learned that it's OK that I'm not great at everything, that there are a lot of things that I may never be as good at as some of the other people I hired. Don't be threatened by that. Co-opt that. Be good at the stuff you're good at, but also know what you're not as strong at."

Though Supergirl and the scarlet speedster pose for the magazine in outfit, will audiences see these two on their television screens? Berlanti points out to IGN, " "I think in success, all things are possible. But there's a lot that would have to happen before everybody might say yes to that."
