Actress Amanda Seyfried recently opened up about an anxiety-ridden past that not many of us knew about. The actress claims to have been struggling with angst and nervousness for years now. Of course, given the fact that her new Off-Broadway play, The Way We Get By, recently debuted, we can't help but find it surprising. And yes, there's that little movie we've all heard about––Ted 2.

But given it all, Seyfried is in fact a nervous person, folks.

In a new interview with Vogue, the actress admits a couple of things: 1) she's now seeing a therapist to help get through her issues, and 2) she apparently tried covering up her nerves during a Late Show with David Letterman appearance by taking a few shots of Jameson.

Back then, the tipsy appearance was all in good fun, but Seyfried now says, "It made it fun for me, but then I watched it and was like, 'That is not what I want to promote about myself.'"

Now, we can't say we blame her for being nervous about the Letterman appearance – seriously, who wouldn't be? – but it seems the interview left quite a bit of a mark.

"I have a lot of anxiety that I've been struggling with my whole life," she said. "So I have been working through it. I'm terrified, but this is exactly what I wanted."

Readers, looking to get over your anxiety? Here are some (hopeful) helpful words of wisdom.
