One Direction Zayn Malik Return? We Have the Answer, Plus His New Song! [LISTEN]

One Direction fans have been praying to the pop gods for heartthrob Zayn Malik to return to the boy band. Rumors ran rampant this week when fans thought their hunky singer was coming back to Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. Is Zayn making a comeback with his former friends?

According to E! News, one of the reasons 1D fans thought Zayn was returning was that "the band's official Facebook page reportedly deleted it's March 25 post announcing that Malik had left the band. In addition, the group's official website decided to reupload Malik's profile page."

They also pointed out a couple of mysterious tweets that got One Directioners all riled up. The man that put the super group together on the X Factor, Simon Cowell, wrote on June 4, "Lots to tell you over the next few days. Just wanted to say hello. Depending on where you are good night or good morning."

While Zayn's music producer, Naughty Boy, posted the day before, "Made enough to go legit but you just can't quit."

However, after all of the speculation it just wasn't meant to be.

"He is not returning to 1D," a source told Gossip Cop.

Zayn fans can whet their appetites with new music from the crooner. A cover of Rae Sremmurd's "No Type" sung by the former boy bander hit the internet this week with a remix featuring rapper Mic Righteous.
