Just because the series finale of Sons of Anarchy aired on FX, that doesn't mean BOOM! Studios is done with SAMCRO. Based on the popular crime drama, Jax Teller (memorably played by Charlie Hunnam) closes its latest chapter in the epic conclusion Sons of Anarchy #22, by writer Ryan Ferrier and artist Matías Bergara

As we previously mentioned, Bobby Munson (Mark Boone Junior)'s estranged nephew arrived in Charming and started out as a promising Prospect. Because he is Bobby's blood, everyone  expected Dillon would eventually fit in with the motorcycle club. Unfortunately, Dillion got involved with the Mayans and sent one of them to the hospital. Though Jax's sense of mercy, allowed Dillon to live, it was also his own undoing.

In our MStars interview, Ferrier discussed Jax's mindset in this installment, "In this arc, it was really important to us to evaluate where Jax is with the Sons at this point, and where he's going-the kind of leader, the kind of man he chooses to be-and explore that, alongside Dillon's self-proclaimed 'rise' to greatness."

Ferrier brings together both rival clubs, SAMCRO and the Mayans, for an action-packed confrontation. Marcus Alvarez (Emilio Rivera) wants Dillon dead, but Jax has to keep him alive for Bobby's sake. The line is drawn between family and loyalty as Jax has to make a final decision about Dillon's punishment.

Bergara's artwork captures the emotional roller-coaster that Jax and Bobby find themselves in. Dillon does get his comeuppance and the punishment is brutal. Bergara's unflinching depiction will remind readers the unsettling murder Jax committed in the seventh season premiere.

RATING: MUST BUY

Ryan Ferrier's macho dialogue and Matías Bergara's uncompromising artwork make Sons of Anarchy #22 a rewarding reading experience. If you miss watching the TV show, this will certainly fill in the void.
