USA's 'Complications' Recap: Episode 3: 'Onset:' Jason O'Mara, Jessica Szohr, Chris Chalk Clash!

After months and months of teasers and previews, Complications continues on USA Network. From Burn Notice creator Matt Nix, in episode 3, will John Ellison (Jason O'Mara) Gretchen Polk (Jessica Szohr), and Darius Bishop (Chris Chalk) be able to stop the Onset?

Gretchen arrives at the house of the abused victim with her bodyguard. The abusive boyfriend, Seth, pulls out a gun when they step onto his porch. The bodyguard grabs the gun and beats the crap of the abuser, breaking his fingers.

With the car filled up, Gretchen is almost done until the bodyguard gets riled up. Seth tells Gretchen how his girlfriend got on her knees and begged for forgiveness. Gretchen takes matter into her hands and beats him to a pulp.

After getting the call from Gretchen, John excuses himself from the dinner table. With blood all over her hands, Gretchen tries to keep Seth alive. When John arrives, Seth is coughing up blood. Gretchen stops John from calling the police.

John agrees to not call but he will deal with Darius first. Samantha (Beth Riesgraf) gets a visit from John's father and asks him to help fix the door. Gretchen's bodyguard is dealing with problems from his absence at work. 

At their meeting spot, Darius takes John away to visit Antwon's father. While in the car, Darius reveals he went to med school but the studies were too tough. John gets a call from Bridget (Lauren Stamile), who wants to know more the mixup behind a patient's death. Bridget refuses to give a pass at John, because it's his fault.

Samantha watches the grandfather and grandson work on the door, when she gets a call from her ex-lover. The grandfather learns more about the supposed robbery from the boy. Gretchen checks up on Seth, who promises to get her in trouble. 

While the medical records become under scrutiny, John and Darius are in the waiting room. Darius gets the nod from the guard, who then takes John to meet Antwon's father. From one father to father, the prisoner, Ezera 'Easy' Tyler (Anthony K. Hyatt) begs John for help. Anyone who helps his son is his brother, but if John doesn't, Easy promises to kill him.

Darius realizes John is under pressure and offers CJ to help. They will get involved if John can't resolve his issues.  While Gretchen gets help, Bridget goes to her superior to put the blame on John. 

Back the house, John see the blood and sees Seth tied up to his exercising equipment. When Gretchen arrives, soon all three are yelling at each other. While Seth tries to make an escape and drives away, Gretchen and John chase after him in their car.

Seth manages to crash his car into the woods. Just before the police arrive, John shows Seth a picture of a dead body and threatens his life. The abused victim gets into the car and drives away. John gets milk like his wife asked.

At home, John sees his father, wife, and son at the dinner table. Back at work, John is back at the day shift. Gretchen refuses to help John when he asks for it.
