USA's 'Complications' Recap: Episode 5: Jason O'Mara, Jessica Szohr, Chris Chalk's "Outbreak!"

After months and months of teasers and previews, Complications continues on USA Network. From Burn Notice creator Matt Nix, in episode 5, will John Ellison (Jason O'Mara) Gretchen Polk (Jessica Szohr), and Darius Bishop (Chris Chalk) be able to stop the Outbreak?

Knowing some of his men are dead, Darius heads on over to a backyard party. He meets with Ezera 'Easy' Tyler (Anthony K. Hyatt)  before he is about to head to prison. Darius knows he's not ready for the responsibility of taking care of the business .

In the midst of their lovemaking, John has to leave the bedroom and go back to work. The hospital is dealing with a gang shooting. Realizing the victim is dead, John suddenly recognizes the gang member's face. 

After cleaning up in the bathroom, John meets with a detective who's investigating the shooting.John then has to deal with a gang member who recognizes his face. While Bridget (Lauren Stamile) is checking a patent, Gretchen has to deal with a gang member of her own. All of a sudden, John is asked for by name and gestured when its Darius.

With a broken leg, Bishop is in the middle of an argument with the detective. After the cop leaves, Darius threatens to bring down John if he doesn't talk to Maddox about Spyder. John gets help from Gretchen to find their missing patient.  

John finds the missing patent but he's knocked out cold from the medication. A female gang member asks Gretchen to help her call her little brother.  A gang member remembers Bridget from before, from his football days. A fight ensures, which ends with Bridget breaking her arm.

John discovers Spyder is actually dead and shot in the street. After relaying the message, Darius realizes he has to leave the hospital to stop the killings. Bishop knows girlfriends and kids are the next targets if he doesn't get out.

While John distracts a police guard, Darius dresses up as a medic and attempts to leave with a cart. Gretchen realizes the female member is suffering from internal bleeding. While Gretchen takes a smoke break and makes a call to her sister, Ingrid. 

John notices blood in the hallway and finds Darius bleeding on the floor. After checking up on his wounds, John realizes he has to operate on Darius' leg. After John puts Bridget's broken arm in place, the detective shows up, wanting to know where Darius is. 

Gretchen is able to sneak John away from the detective and back to Darius. After refusing morphine, Daris struggles not to scream from the pain and stay still. John reveals to Darius how he saw his daughter slowly die from cancer. 

Darius decides to keep the bullet after John gets it out. Gretchen helplessly watches as the female gang member dies. After getting Darius out of the hospital, John promises to bring him down if he's an accessory to murder; enough people have died tonight.

John talks to his wife and son on his cell, promising to be home soon. Bridget notices John throw out the needles he used on Darius. The detective hands his card over to John, telling him to think really hard.
