Didier Drogba MLS Transfer Rumors: Chicago Fire, Montreal Impact Answer "in Next 48 Hours”

Didier Drogba, he former star player for the current Barclays Premier League champions, Chelsea FC, has been at the middle of some heated transfer rumors over in the States. According to reports, the 37-year-old footballer is looking to get into Major League Soccer play, but hasn't decided on a team just yet. News this week suggests that Drogba has to choose between the Montreal Impact, which he's said in the past is his favored side, and the Chicago Fire, a team confident in signing the goal-scorer. Apparently, both MLS teams are claiming that Drogba is coming to their roster. Earlier this week, Montreal's president, Joey Saputo, said that he was in open discussions with the star player.

"I personally spoke to Didier. The ball is now in his camp. This is now beyond our control," he said, according. "We're doing everything we can to bring Drogba to Montreal. I know that the Fire is also in discussion with him. We'll see what happens."

Meanwhile, Fire head coach Frank Yallop revealed that the striker will make a decision by the weekend!

"We're waiting on an answer, probably in the next 48 hours," the coach said this week, according to MLSSoccer.com. "We're just waiting for a decision from their side on what way he wants to go. He has choices. We feel that we've put a pretty good pitch in. He's very happy with what we've done, but, again, it's up the person himself to choose, and we'll see."
