Chanel Names Johnny Depp's Daughter, Lily-Rose, New Face of Eyewear Campaign

Lily-Rose Depp, daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, has been named the new ambassador of Chanel and the face of Chanel's eyewear collection. Depp, who is just 16 years old, will represent the brand, following in the footsteps of her model mother.

The campaign for the Chanel eyewear collection was launched with Lily-Rose looking fresh and fierce. It was shot by Karl Lagerfeld, who used Paradis as a muse for years.

The young Depp and her mother attended the Chanel Metiers d'Art show in New York City together in March. Lily-Rose has come a long way since then. Depp walked in the Chanel couture show in July, which was casino-themed. She also starred in a music video for Rejjie Snow's "All Around The World."

Back in May, Depp celebrated her sixteenth birthday with a "Sour Sixteen" party, eschewing the classic "Sweet Sixteen," in typical Depp style. It was an angsty (and, of course, oh-so-cool) soiree.

Paradis has long served as muse to Chanel's Karl Lagerfeld. She has appeared in scores of Chanel shows and campaigns over the past two decades. Paradis also walked in the casino couture show alongside her daughter.

Unfortunately, however, rumor has it that Johnny Depp is none too pleased about the developments in his daughter's life. It's said that the elder Depp believes the Chanel campaign is too mature a gig for his teen daughter. He's reportedly very angry that Paradis is allowing their daughter to move forward with this career.

Depp and Paradis were together -- but never married -- for 14 years. They had two children: Lily-Rose and a younger son, Jack. Depp spoke about their split in 2013, saying it wasn't easy for the couple of their children, but that they were finding ways to come to terms with it. Depp married Amber Heard in February.
