USA Network premiered their highly anticipated hacker drama, Mr. Robot. This is the perfect opportunity to check out episode 1 through 5, starring Christian Slater (Mr. Robot), Portia Doubleday (Angela) and Rami Malek (Elliot) as they all came together in their first season debut.

As we previously mentioned, Mr. Robot centers on a young and isolated programmer named Elliot (Malek). Suffering from an anti-social disorder, Elliot can only connect to people by actually hacking them. Elliot is then recruited to join an underground hacker organization determined to bring down corporate America by a mysterious anarchist named Mr. Robot (Slater).

Check out our 5 thoughts on the first 5 episodes of Mr. Robot:

5) Hello Friend

Let's talk first about how awesome the pilot is awesome! Malek definitely deserves tons of kudos for his leading magnetic performance as Elliot. Even when Slater is not physically there in the scene, his presence can still be felt. Director Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) beautifully captures the gritty atmosphere of the show's New York setting, especially Coney island.

4) This Is Your Brain On Drugs

In eps1.3_da3m0ns.mp4, Elliot had to deal with withdrawal from his morphine addiction, which sent him a freaky acid trip. Did Elliot imagine a shootout at a crackhouse or did that really happen? Elliot also proposed to his childhood best friend, Angela, who warned him, "You're not Elliot!" Did you recognize Keith David (They Live)'s voice as the talking fish?

3) Who's The Big Bad?

How many big bads does this show have? In the cliffhanger of episode two, eps1.1_ones-and-zer0es.mpeg, I thought Mr. Robot was the big bad when he pushed Elliot off the railing. But then in episode three, eps1.2_d3bug.mkv, Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallström) beats up a homeless man because he needs to let loose some steam. And don't get me started on Ollie Parker (Ben Rappaport), who was cheating on Angela! Plus there's Evil Corp, which Mr. Robot doesn't want to hurt; he wants to kill it.

2) Episode 4

My personal favorite, of the first five, has to be episode four, eps1.3_da3m0ns.mp4. This is the episode that concentrates on the female characters, such as Angela, Shayla (Frankie Shaw), and Darlene (Carly Chaikin), letting the viewers get to know them more, while advancing the plot. And guess what? Each in their own way, Doubleday, Chaiken, Shaw make their characters such badasses.

1) Welcome To the Dark Side

Kudos to Portia Doubleday for introducing Angela as a sweet and naive little nobody. As the episodes progressed, we got to see her dark side, as she incriminated her cheating boyfriend in the hacking scheme against her job at AllSafe. Though she tried to escape her problems, Evil Corp has its claws on Angela's father. At the end of eps1.4_3xpl0its.wmv, Angela doesn't know which path to take.

Mr. Robot continues Wednesdays at 10pm on USA.
