'Humans' Season 2 Renewed: Will William Hurt, Colin Morgan, Gemma Chan Return?

The sci-fi drama, Humans, has been renewed for Season 2 by AMC. Before the first season finale, in the last two episodes, will Dr. George Millican (William Hurt), Leo(Colin Morgan) and synth Anita (Gemma Chan) possibly return after they have become entangled in their own conspiracy.

As we previously mentioned, Humans follows suburbanites, Joe (Tom Goodman-Hill) and Laura (Katherine Parkinson), as their family is introduced to their synth, Anita. But their robot isn't like anything else like they have ever known. As Anita (Chan) continues to rebel against her programming, Leo (Morgan) searches nonstop for Anita and the missing Synths, who are being hunted down by outside forces.

In our recent recap, the mystery behind Leo was slowly unraveled. Because he died as a boy and came back from the dead, Leo happens to be part human, part Synth. Leo shares an intimate connection with Anita, whose real name is Mia, who raised him as a boy, as if he were her own son. After Max (Ivanno Jeremiah) sacrificed himself, how long does Leo have before he is finally caught?

According to TV Line, AMC, and production partners Channel 4 and Kudos has renewed the freshman drama for an eight-episode second season.

In a statement, AMC/Sundance TV original programming President Joel Stillerman announced, "We're so pleased to announce a second season of Humans. As one of the year's top new cable series, Humans has been embraced by fans and critics across the U.S. and UK. We're looking forward to continuing this very captivating story and further exploring the show's parallel, Synth-filled world that hits so disturbingly close to home."

Just because the show got its renewal, that doesn't mean the cast is safe. Who will live and who will die in the last two episodes of the first season?
