Jon Stewart's final episode of The Daily Show was an undoubted success filled with laughs, emotion and nostalgia. But it's the former host's actions after the show that now has the Internet abuzz. It's being reported that Jon Stewart has, via a contest, donated a rocking $2.2 million to charity after the Daily Show cameras turned off for good...

Or, well, until Sept. 28 when they turn back on for Trevor Noah's program.

Mic.com reports that Stewart's donation came in the form of his partnership with Omaze. Stewart mentioned a contest back when he first announced that he was leaving the Comedy Central series. Fans could enter and donate to win a chance to see the final taping of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. All donations went to Omaze and the New York Collaborates For Autism foundation.

Omaze's senior VP of marketing Helen Melluish admitted that Stewart "mentioned the cause multiple times on air," adding, "He was really the biggest champion of this from the very beginning."

This isn't the first time Stewart has partnered with Omaze. The comedian gave one lucky fan the chance to appear on The Daily Show after he helped raise money for the Mission Continues charity, which helps vets come back to the world after returning from deployment.

Stewart's finale aired this past Thursday, Aug. 6. It brought back each and every one of the show's correspondents and even included a famous send-off for the comic from the likes of Hillary Clinton and former Daily Show host Craig Kilborn.

And then there was this wonderful piece of video:

The show ended with a heartfelt message to America, telling us all to never stop digging for the bullsh*t of U.S. politics. Then, Stewart closed out the series for good with HIS moment of zen––a performance by Bruce Springsteen.
