Villa player Ciaran Clark this week opened up to the press about his excitement heading into today's match. After all, a game against the legendary United squad at home is something to be pumped up about!
"It's Man United It's the first home game of the season. We're back at Villa Park. It's a sell-out under the lights. I'm not sure it can get much better than that," he told avfc.co.uk. "You've got all the makings of a great game and I'm sure the fans can't wait for it. The lads are the same. We love playing at Villa Park. It's obviously an amazing stadium and there's something special about matches there in the evening. It's just got that something extra."

Meanwhile, United's coach, Louis van Gaal, is hoping to leave with three points tonight.
"At home we were one of the best - third in the league, I think," he told reporters at the pre-match press conference, according to the team's website. "But away from home we can improve - last season it was not good. I think that is the key for success this season."
