'Gotham' Season 2 Cast: Leo Fitzpatrick Joins Robin Lord Taylor, Ben McKenzie, Michael Chiklis

Fox has released a new poster and promo for their Batman prequel series, Gotham. Before Season 2 of Gotham gets underway, will Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), and Nathaniel Barnes (Michael Chiklis) have to stop Joe Pike (Leo Fitzpatrick)?

In our finale recap, after a botched hit, Gordon (McKenzie) came to the rescue of Carmine Falcone just when Penguin was about to slit his throat. Trouble mounted for the detective as Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) returned with a vengeance and shot Sal Maroni (David Zayas) in the head. Elsewhere, Barbara (Erin Richards) confessed to Leslie (Morena Baccarin) that she murdered her parents and almost tried to kill her.

In the closing minutes, Falcone gave up his life of crime after Jim helped him reach a safe house. The Penguin (Taylor) took his revenge on Fish, grabbed her, and threw her off the roof; officially making him the number one mob boss. Bruce (Mazouz) discovered his father was actually hiding the Batcave.

According to Deadline, The Wire actor has been cast in a recurring as baddie Joe Pike. In the storyline, Pike happens to be the leader of a notorious gang. This is no ordinary gang as they are a group of arsonists known as the Pike Brothers.

The Pike brothers hint as one of the famous Batman super villain, The Firefly. Will Gordon and company witness the origin story of the pyromaniac and watch Gotham City burn?

As we previously mentioned, Season 2 has been described as "Rise of the Villains." With Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) landing in Arkham Asylum, viewers will be seeing more familiar faces of Batman rogue gallery. Though The Penguin (Taylor) rules as the king of Gotham,he will face heavy competition from Tigress (Jessica Lucas) and Theo Galavan (James Frain).

Gotham returns for Season 2 on Fox on September 21 at 8pm.
