When Sony and Marvel came together to bring Peter Parker/Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Andrew Garfield was out of a job and his Amazing Spider-Man movies came to an end. It turns out that the actor isn't that mad about this film industry move and that he's pretty excited about newcomer Tom Holland taking over the role, first in Captain America: Civil War in 2016 and then a solo film directed by Jon Watts in 2017, with more to come after that. Watch Emma Stone's boyfriends talk about Holland and give his approval in a recent interview below.

We're going to see a brand new Spider-Man once again, which is familiar territory for fans of the comic book superhero. This means that Garfield understands what Holland is going through as the new star, since Andrew replaced Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker a few years ago. But, one big positive outcome of getting replaced by Holland is that Andrew can sit back and enjoy the character as a fan as opposed to taking on the role.

"I'm just really excited to just be a fan again as opposed to bearing the weight of it," he told Entertainment Tonight last week.

"It feels lovely, especially because Tom Holland is a really, really great actor," Garfield said, according to tjcnewspaper.com. "He was in this movie The Impossible and he was just this incredibly powerful, sensitive, just wonderful young actor. And [he's] a dancer, so his body's the right [form]."
