Season 2 of The Strain continues on FX. Based on Guillermo Del Toro's bestselling novels, published by Dark Horse Comics, in Episode 7, are Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and Nora Martinez (Mia Maestro) ready to face The Master & The Born?

In the Roman Times, Quinlan fights as a Gladiator and lays the competition. After his kill in the Colosseum, Quinlan is chained up again. The Caesar promises to teach Quinlan about humanity on the field of battle.

Vasiliy Fet (Kevin Durand) is enjoying himself in bed with Dutch (Ruta Gedmintas). The two then enter a locked room and find Dutch's missing lover, Nikki. Eldritch Palmer (Jonathan Hyde) invites his secretary, Coco, to a helicopter ride, when he hears Eph murdered his assassin. Eph makes it back to New York, enters a bar, and checks on his gunshot wound in a bathroom.

While Eph continues drinking, Dutch carries Nikki to their hideout. Abraham (David Bradley) needs his help, but Fet only has Dutch on his mind. Fet is heartbroken knowing Dutch is choosing Nikki over him.

After breaking into a factory, Fet and Abraham find the abandoned school bus. As Fet wanders back to the hideout, Abraham  and Fet are under attack by the vampire children. After taking down the feelers, Quinlan introduces himself to Abraham.

In a helicopter ride, Palmer and Coco almost hold hands. Palmer tells her lies about the death of Barnes and Eph. Quinlan tells Abraham that he wants to hunt the Master as well. In the flashback, Quinlan is riding a horse into town under sickness. Though he is too late to save the people, he wants the so-called possessed giant.

In the lair, Quinlan uses the cane to take down the vampire children. Back in the present, Quinlan is impressed that Abraham has forced The Master to transform. Knowing they are in the lair of The Master, Abraham wants to blow up the building, but he doesn't care about Quinlan.

Nora then tells Eph what happened between Zach and his mother. Reeling from the loss in Washington, Eph is all out of optimism, but Nora thinks there's still a chance. While Fet forces an evacuation of the entire building, Abraham finds The Master's dead body.

Bolivar (Jack Kesey) and Eichorist have a face-to-face confrontation with Quinlan.  As Fet sets up the timer to the dynamite, Abraham shows up to the duel. The explosion blocks the path between Quinlan and Bolivar.

With the police arriving, Fet helps Abraham make their escape. Eph meets with Zach, promising that he's back for good. Back at their hideout, Fet isn't so happy being around Dutch and her ex. Fet makes a wisecrack at Eph, who mentions how things have changed between him and Dutch.

As Fet storms off, Palmer is having drinks with Coco. As they walk together into his bedroom, Coco outs her lips on his. Reading his history book, Abraham tells Zach the story of "The Born." At the bar, Fet and Eph have drinks, drowning their sorrows.

After finishing his last drink, Eph promises he will kill Palmer.
