AMC's The Walking Dead returns for Season 6 this October, and it looks like a main character could be in serious trouble if the rumors are true that the show is possibly casting the villain named Negan for this year's new episodes. (SPOILERS to follow)

First, here is the actual report from Michael Ausiello's "Ask Ausiello" column at TVLine:

"Now I'm really worried that a certain Walking Dead vet's days may be numbered," he said. "The show is quietly casting a Season 6 role that sounds a lot like Negan, the comic book character who ends up killing [Spoiler]. The breakdown describes 'Rich' as a fiftysomething narcissist who has an angry streak, a 'Senator-like charm' and the charisma of a car salesman. Totally Negan, right?"

Now, for those of you unfamiliar with Negan, here's a quick breakdown. The character first appears in the landmark 100th issue of The Walking Dead comic book, and his debut is a memorable one. His gang of marauders rounds up Rick Grimes and his crew, and Negan eventually shows up to deal with them himself. He carries with him his baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire, which he affectionately calls "Lucille."

Negan scans the group and eventually beats Glenn to death with the bat. It's a brutal, bloody, and disturbing scene in which he bashes Glenn's brains out of his head, literally, as he whacks him in the head over and over and over again. His friends watch helplessly as Negan murders their trusted friend and ally.

This is one of the most famous scenes from the comic book, and it's a scene many fans have been waiting for on the show. Negan could appear in Season 6 based on where they are in the series now, so we'll have to wait and see if Glenn makes it through the year.
