According to a new injury report from manager Jose Mourinho, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is out for Chelsea FC's weekend game against Everton and will miss ten to twelve weeks of the 2015/2016 Barclays Premier League season. This means that new transfer Asmir Begovic will take over for the majority of the schedule. You can read more about the latest of many injuries in the BPL below.

Apparently, the star keeper was injured during training and not in an actual play. Along with teammate Eden Hazard, Courtois returned from international duties with Belgium only to suffer a meniscus tear in his right knee. Surgery was performed, but he is to miss a big amount of this season in order to recover.

"Courtois was injured in a training session and he will be out for quite a long time," Mourinho said, according to The Guardian. "I cannot be more specific. I will wait for Dr [Paco] Biosca [Chelsea's medical director] to more specific after the surgery. I just know he will be out for some time. It's a big blow but you will not see me speaking again about Thibaut. It's not easy to have the best goalkeeper in the world injured. But it is easy to have one of the best goalkeepers in the world to play. Begovic is very, very good. I'm sad for Thibaut and sad for the team but we have a top goalkeeper and Begovic will be in goal."

With Begovic stepping into the starting position, third-string keeper Jamal Blackman is now the backup for the defending Premier League champions.

"He does not have experience but he has potential," Mourinho said of the 21-year-old English keeper.
