MVP and Golden State Warriors' shooting guard, Stephen Curry has signed a contract extension with Under Armour. The MVP earned an undisclosed ownership stake in the sportswear giant as part of the new deal, which was announced on Wednesday at UA's Global Headquarters in Baltimore during annual investor day. Curry is now amongst two of his fellow Under Armour endorsers, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and golfer Jordan Spieth, with an equity stake in the company.

According to CSN, during the surprise visit to UA's headquarters, Curry said, "In the first two years of our partnership, we accomplished so much both on and off the court, and I'm looking forward to being part of the brand's story for the rest of my playing career and beyond. Together we share a passion for making athletes better and instilling self-belief in athletes everywhere. The entire team has done an amazing job to develop an innovative product that performs on the court and builds platforms that allow me to connect with athletes all over the world. The best is yet to come."

According to ESPN's Darren Rovell, the two-time all star, who led the Warriors to last season's NBA title, has endorsed Under Armour for the past two years after Nike failed to match a deal worth less than $4 million a year. Curry's initial deal with Under Armour was due to expire in 2017, while his new endorsement deal has been extended to 2024, which will most likely cover the rest of his playing career in the NBA.

"Under Armour has felt like family since day one," Curry said in a statement. "In the first two years of our partnership, we accomplished so much both on and off the court, and I'm looking forward to being part of the brand's story for the rest of my playing career and beyond."

According to Sports Pro Media, Curry was ranked number 7 in SportsPro's 2015 list of the world's 50 most marketable athletes in May. Curry also has sponsors from State Farm, Degree Men and MuscleMilk.

"Stephen is a once-in-a-generation talent and has unprecedented influence on the game of basketball," said Adam Peake, the company's executive vice president of global marketing.

"His work ethic, uncompromising self-belief, and commitment to the community are characteristics that make Stephen the perfect partner to ignite the growth of Under Armour in the sport of basketball and around the world.

"We are extremely proud to call Stephen family, and we are excited to write the next chapter of our shared story."

According to Comcast Sports Net, as part of this partnership, Curry will continue to play a role in global brand marketing campaigns. This includes training, lifestyle offerings and Under Armour's Connected Fitness platforms. The partnership also states that Under Armour will continue to grow Curry's signature footwear line and collection of products.

Last year, Under Armour enjoyed an increase in basketball shoe sales after launching Curry's first signature shoe, the Curry One. The Curry Two shoe, which was recently launched in Asia as part of Curry's Under Armour tour of the region, will launch in the U.S. and globally on October 24.
