Chelsea FC walked away from this weekend's first Barclays Premier League 2015 schedule game against Arsenal FC with a 2-0 victory, but at what cost? Striker Diego Costa has always stirred up controversy in the past, but Gunners fans have been calling for his punishment after his overly aggressive play this weekend. After going over the footage from the game and the altercation with Arsenal's Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel Paulista, the Football Association has charged Diego Costa with violent conduct. The FA released a statement, charging Costa, Gabriel, and the players' respective clubs. Gabriel was charged with "improper conduct" after he was sent off the field while the clubs were charged with not controlling their players. Costa, as we mentioned above, has had a heftier charge placed on his shoulders and has little time to respond to the FA.

"Off the ball incidents which are not seen at the time by the match officials are referred to a panel of three former elite referees," the FA stated this week, according to ESPN FC. "Each referee panel member will review the video footage independently of one another to determine whether they consider it a sending-off offence. For retrospective action to be taken, and an FA charge to follow, the decision by the panel must be unanimous."

According to BBC, if Costa accepts these charges, he'll face a three-match ban, which affects Chelsea's Capital One Cup match against Walsall and the upcoming Premier League games against Newcastle and Southampton.

As you can see in the video below, Costa definitely has some explaining to do for his conduct. As a Chelsea supporter, myself, I'm not going to defend this. Let us know what you think of this news in the comments section below.
