Larry Wilmore recently had Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders on The Nightly Show for a Soul Food Sit-Down. Together, the comedian and Vermont Senator discussed the issues, mainly socialism, with Wilmore asking whether or not Sanders feels the United States of America is ready for a socialist president.

Oh, and they also succeeded in making us hungry as all hell in the process.

After cracking a couple of jokes about the ridiculous accusations against President Barack Obama – mainly that he's Muslim and not from the U.S. – Sanders expressed that he does feel America is ready for a socialist president, particularly the idea of Democratic socialism and taking on issues such as free healthcare and college education.

And at 74 years old, the candidate is well-aware that he would be the oldest elected president, but doesn't seem to be fazed by his age. Of course, if a Weekend at Bernie's situation were to arise (which hopefully it doesn't), well, he's cool with that.

In fact, he does play the part well...

Take a look at the conversation between Bernie Sanders and Larry Wilmore below, and be sure to stay long enough for that "on-fleek" moment:

Further on in the interview, Wilmore brought up the subject of Donald Trump. And while Sanders didn't really say anything about the current frontrunner of the Republican party, the Nightly Show host attributed Trump's success to one thing: that hat.

Which, by the way, is now a sexy Halloween costume!

So, where can we get one of those hats?

Find out @berniesanders's answer to this question tonight. 11:30/10:30c. #feelthebern
