Amy Poehler and Nick Kroll have split, with the comedic couple breaking up after two years of dating following her divorce. The Parks & Recreation star and the League actor have been together for two years, and was the first relationship for Poehler since her divorce from actor Will Arnett.

The two were first spotted and confirmed as a couple back in June 2013 when they walked the red carpet at AFI’s Life Achievement Award Gala, which was actually a month after they had started officially seeing each other. An insider revealed a possible reason for the couple’s split to Us Weekly, stating, “Unfortunately, they just couldn’t make the relationship work with their schedules.” They continued, “They really tried, but it just wasn’t realistic anymore,” adds the source.

“They were spending more time apart than together.”

The two were one of the favorites in Hollywood, as the two were both in the same field of comedy, and successful in two different series. Poehler even described how special the relationship was to her in a hilarious excerpt from her Yes, Please memoir:

“I have a boyfriend who knows how to settle me. He puts his hand on my chest and tells me boring stories. On one of our first nights together, I woke up apologizing for my snoring and he pulled out two earplugs he had worn to bed so he could hear what I was saying. It was one of the most romantic gestures I have ever seen,” she wrote about the two when they were in their earlier dating stages.

The two sparked some split rumors this past weekend, as Poehler showed up to the 2015 Emmy Awards solo on the red carpet, as she was nominated for an award for her role as Leslie Knope on Parks & Recreation. Longtime fans of the now-ended show were disappointed when she was snubbed from her last chance to win an Emmy for her beloved role.
