CBS' 'Supergirl' Spoilers: Will Melissa Benoist' Kara Danvers Meet Clark Gregg's Phil Coulson?

Before its the official October premiere date, CBS has plans underway for the DC Comics superheroine Supergirl. Will Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) suddenly need the help from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. leader Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg)?

As we previously mentioned, the CBS superhero drama will follow the comic book adventures of Kara Zor-El (Benoist). Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El escaped before its destruction. While living on Earth, Kara has been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin. But now at the tender age of 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and become the hero she was always meant to be.

According to Variety, Benoist has joined the ongoing Dubsmash battle between Marvel's Agents of SHIELD and Marvel's Agent Carter. All in the name of charity, which has already raised over $55,000 f to date, Supergirl herself swoops in for their Round 2 video. In an unexpected DC/Marvel crossover, the Whiplash actress joins SHIELD actors Clark Gregg and Chloe Bennet to sing War's "Why Can't We Be Friends."

The last time there was a crossover Supergirl and The Flash (Grant Gustin) teamed up for the cover of Variety magazine. As we previously mentioned, Warner Bros. TV is bringing to their freshmen series to New York Comic-Con next month, on Sunday October 11. Supergirl joins Blindspot, DC's Legends of Tomorrow and Containment, as well as returning series Gotham and Person of Interest. There will be advance viewings of pilot episodes from Supergirl, Containment and Lucifer. After the screening of the complete pilot, the panel will be followed by a special Q&A with series stars, Melissa Benoist, Chyler Leigh, Mehcad Brooks, and executive producer Ali Adler.
