FX's 'The Strain' Season 2 Recap Episode 13: Corey Stoll, Mia Maestro "Night Train" Finale!

The Season 2 finale of The Strain airs on FX. Based on Guillermo Del Toro's bestselling novels, published by Dark Horse Comics, in Episode 13, are Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and Nora Martinez (Mia Maestro) trapped in the Night Train?

Nora joins Eph as they take Zach (Max Charles) to the train. During the check point, someone starts shooting rounds. Nora and Eph try to reconcile as they wait patiently for the train. While Zach is listening to his headphones, Kelly (Natalie Brown) spots him fram afar. 

Elsewhere, Gus (Miguel Gomez) and Silver Angel (Joaquin Cosio) bring the gang to meet Quinlan (Rupert Penry-Jones). The gang members step back after Quinlin kills one of them. Quinlan then offers them a chance to define themselves and change the future as warriors. 

Finally inside the train, Eph and Nora find their seats. Alonso (Jamie Hector) meets with Vasiliy Fet (Kevin Durand) and Abraham (David Bradley). All of a sudden, Thomas Eichorst (Richard Sammel) shows up for the bidding. Thomas tells Abraham that the Master has plans for him and wants to turn him into a vampire. 

During the bidding, as the prices raises to $50 million, Thomas is about Eldritch Palmer (Jonathan Hyde) win. Alonso discovers Thomas' Swiss bank has withdrawn from the bidding. When Thomas puts his hands on Alonso, his gang pulls out their guns. Eldritch Palmer (Jonathan Hyde) would rather let Abraham have the ancient book than Thomas.  

After Fet and Abraham leave the with the book, he vampire slayer reveals he will not give the book to the Ancient Ones. Suddenly, a truck hits their van.A swarm of vampires then attack the damaged car. Thomas orders the vampires to bring him the ancient book and Abraham. 

As Fet starts shooting, Gus, Angel wearing his mask, and their gang show up with guns.  Quinlan has an encounter with Thomas and speaks to his father, The Master. Thomas makes his escape as Gus runs inside the van and discovers the escape hatch. Angel is caught by surprise when the van explodes.

Away from his seat, Eph discovers something is blocking the train tracks. The train ends up plowing down a horde of vampires before derailing. Thomas then pays a visit to Palmer and Coco. Palmer will release his security guards if The Master finally pays his respect. 

The Master (Jack Kesey) then releases his stinger onto Coco, draining her blood, and forces Palmer to watch. In the window, Eph spots his wife climbing onto the train crash. As Nora and Zach make a run for it, Eph has to shoot his way through the feelers. 

Zach stands behind as Nora and Kelly have their standoff. Nora is abut to cut off Kelly's head when Zach distracts her. Zach pleads with his mother not to kill Nora as he gives up and hugs her. The two end up leaving together. 

Fet and Abraham finally make their way through the sewers. Gus then points his piece at the two. Quinlan then arrives at the Mexican standoff. Abraham forms a truce with Quinlan to take down The Master.

Eph finally shows up and finds Nora infected. Nora then stabs the third rail and electrocutes herself. 

Though they have the book, Abraham doesn't understand what the writing says. Palmer cuts open Coco and keeps her heart. Eph walks out of the subway alone and defeated. 

And New York continues to burn.
