As news reports of mass shootings seem to be airing each and every week now – which, by the way, blows – much of the debate that comes from it is centered on guns. In recent weeks it has been the shootings in Oregon, and in the past it was occurrences such as the shooting at comedian Amy Schumer's film Trainwreck. And whether people be for or against gun control, it's a topic that is politicized time and time again after each and every mass shooting. Which is exactly why it was perfect fodder for last night's episode of Saturday Night Live with the aforementioned Amy Schumer acting as host.

In a commercial parody, SNL shows us various clips of people experiencing different moments throughout their lives: giving birth to a child, going on a date, exercising, spending time with family, etc. All the while, it appears that there is one thing that unites them all – their love for guns.

"Whatever you're waiting for," the video starts with, "Whatever you face. Whatever you're looking for, there are things we all share. Love. Family. Connection. A sense of purpose. And also, guns."

The video further notes that no matter what life throws at you, guns will always be there.

"They unite us, comfort us, bring us joy, and strength. From first loves to new beginnings; wherever life takes you – guns, we're here to stay."

So, thoughts?
